FWRA 2008 SYMPOSIUM 2008 will be FWRA’s 20th anniversary as an organization. The symposium committee is planning an even bigger and better event for next year. We will be meeting at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center in Haines City. The dates are September 25 - 28, 2008. A sneak preview of the facility is available on their web site, flaltc.org and watch for more information on this page and in your FWRA newsletter. Start planning now, you won’t want to miss this one! SYMPOSIUM IS COMING Mark Pokras, DVM is flying in from Tufts and will be teaching several classes. PJ Deitschel, DVM is bringing Amber McNamara, DVM with her from CROW and they'll be team teaching several classes including the oh so popular Morning Rounds. Michael Yabsley is returning and he'll perform some demos on collecting specimens to submit for testing, as well as exploring of the GI tract of an opossum and a raccoon. We'll have classes available on species specific care, education, conservation, photography, proper disposal of sharps and out dated drugs, raptor identification, Audubon Eagle Watch, rabies and much, much more! We'll also have workshops where you can make things and round tables where you can discuss rehab issues. Evenings will find us playing games, receiving some tips on fundraising and learning a little about ourselves and others. A more detailed schedule will be available as speakers and topics are confirmed. Please remember the schedule is subject to change due to circumstances beyond the control of FWRA."
